The special thing is the closure: the string closure of this envelope distinguishes it from normal letters and mailing bags that we know from the shop, the office or from home.
The thread is placed in the shape of an "8" around the hollow rivets under the cardboard discs and closes the envelope securely. It can thus be sent by "normal" letter post.
One advantage of this envelope is the possibility to open the envelope with the string seal at any time without having to tear open the seal or the envelope. This also makes the envelope environmentally friendly, as it can be reused several times.
