Jute twine – natural, strong and decorative
What is jute twine?
Jute twine is made from the fibres of the jute plant. This natural fibre is biodegradable, tear-resistant and robust. Its typical, slightly coarse structure and matt sheen give the twine a natural look. Depending on how it is processed, it can feel soft or firmer to the touch. We offer jute twine in its natural, undyed form as well as in single-colour or two-colour dyed versions.
Our range includes jute twine in various lengths and thicknesses:
-
Spools with lengths of 50 m, 200 m and 500 m
-
Diameters: 1.5 mm, 2 mm and 3.5 mm
This allows you to choose the right variant for your application – whether for fine details or coarser work.
What can jute twine be used for?
Jute twine is suitable for numerous applications. It is used in handicrafts, floristry, decoration, gift wrapping, workshops and horticulture. Thanks to its combination of natural appearance and high tear resistance, jute twine is not only decorative but also functional.
Typical applications:
-
Gift wrapping: As ribbon, for wrapping cardboard boxes or for attaching tags.
-
Decoration: For rustic table decorations, for making garlands or for wrapping vases, glasses and lanterns.
-
Floristry: As binding material for bouquets and flower arrangements.
-
Garden and balcony: For tying plants or as a climbing aid.
-
Creative work: For knotting, braiding or weaving – e.g. for small wall hangings, macramé projects or seasonal decorations.
A few tips for use
-
Wrap gifts naturally: Combine jute twine with kraft paper, natural cardboard or wrapping paper for simple, eco-friendly gift wrapping. Wooden or paper tags add a particularly harmonious touch.
-
Knotting and wrapping techniques: Different thicknesses of twine can be used to achieve different effects. Fine twine is ideal for wrapping small packages or tags. Thick twine has a stronger, more decorative effect, for example in rustic bows.
-
Add colourful accents: Use coloured or two-tone jute twine to create contrasts – for example, on plain cartons or light-coloured paper. It also looks great in combination with natural materials such as wood or linen to create a harmonious overall look.
-
DIY throughout the year: Jute twine is ideal for seasonal decorations, such as Easter tags, Christmas tags or autumn wreaths.
Eco-friendly and reusable
As jute twine is made from plant fibres, it is compostable and can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner after use. It has a long shelf life when stored in a dry place. It can also be reused several times, for example for repackaging, crafting or in the garden.
Jute twine is a practical and visually appealing solution for many applications. With a selection of colours, lengths and thicknesses, you will find the right product for your needs. Whether for gift wrapping, creative projects or everyday use, jute twine offers flexibility, stability and a natural aesthetic.
